We were delighted to accept a donation of £500.00 from the Freemasons in the Lodges of Perthshire East. Representatives came to the stables and were given a tour and talk on all the work we do and how it’s achieved.

This type of financial support is much appreciated. Thank you so much.

We were delighted to launch our new service in April – Hippotherapy.

Hippotherapy literally means “treatment with the help of the horse” from the Greek word “hippos”. Specially trained physical and occupational therapists use this treatment for local young clients with movement dysfunction. In Hippotherapy the horse influences the client rather than the client controlling the horse.

Badger and Jay Boy do a superb job looking after the children that take part. Well deserved extras treats for these two.
On the 23rd May JayBoy became a teenager.
Happy 13th Birthday JayBoy. He enjoyed lots of treats.
Congratulations to Jacqui Curtis on passing your RDA Coaching Assessment last week to become our eighth registered coach at Kinfauns.

Jacqui said that she enjoyed learning from the theory and practical modules on the RDA coaching pathway. She wished to thank our other coaches and volunteers for the support they gave to help her achieve this award.

Congratulations to Stefania, Aila and Ivy on passing your grade 1 horse care proficiency test. Now we set new goals and objectives.

Our volunteer Coordinator Karen Brown did her annual fundraiser for us by doing a bedding plant sale.

She has raised an amazing £952.00

Thank you to everyone who bought some plants.

Our volunteer Sandra just wanted to say a huge thank you to everybody who sponsored her to do a parachute jump to raise funds for Kinfauns RDA.  She raised a fantastic £1353.75

The total raised was much more than she anticipated, so she wanted to pass on her heart felt appreciation to everybody who contributed. Completing the parachute jump, which was a 60th birthday present from her husband, was definitely a bucket list activity and she said it was by far the best birthday present she has received and she felt fantastic afterwards.

The best reward was the money raised for Kinfauns RDA where she volunteers, as she can see the benefits the children gain from spending time with the horses.

The picture shows Sandra handing over a cheque, watched by her grandchildren and ‘Minnie’ who has had her saddle paid for by this fundraising. The additional funds will be used to benefit our other equines.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES at KINFAUNS STABLES RDA

People choose to volunteer with us for a variety of reasons. For some it offers the chance to give something back to the community or make a difference to the people around them. For others it provides an opportunity to develop new skills or build on existing experience and knowledge working with ponies and/or disabled particpants.

We are currently looking for volunteers to assist with our lessons on a Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday afternoon as well as Wednesday and Thursday evenings.  Any time you can commit is valued no matter how short. No experience necessary as training will be given

If you have office experience, IT skills or are familiar with funding applications we would also be delighted to hear from you.

As a self funding charity we rely so much on volunteers to operate our services.

FOR DETAILS ON HOW TO APPLY PLEASE GO TO OUR VOLUNTEER SECTION.
